Meet the Team

Chiropractic Dr Rebecca Nicholas – Clinic Director

DC M. Chiro MCC

Undertakes work for most major health insurance providers including Aviva, AXA/PPP and Simply Health

Doctor of Chiropractic, Rebecca Nicholas has been raised with a chiropractic ‘natural first’
philosophy and has been able to avoid GP’s surgeries and hospitals.

Following in the family tradition, Rebecca graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth with a Masters degree in Chiropractic before moving back to her home town and first love, Brighton. She has undertaken a post-graduate certificate in paediatrics and takes a special interest in chiropractic paediatrics and pregnancy. She has since completed qualifications to use dry needling and Activator techniques.

Rebecca believes that prevention is always better than the cure. Young people especially should not dismiss their problems but get them looked at, preventing many health issues later in life.

Rebecca acquired the Clinic during 2007 and continues to treat Cornelia Nicholas’ patients, having since retired.

Chiropractic Dr Mike Ford

MChiro DC

Mike completed his training at McTimoney College of Chiropractic; here he learnt a specific style of chiropractic that can be very gentle and non-invasive, ideal for adjusting both the elderly and the very young.  However, before becoming a Chiropractor Mike was a sports rehabilitation therapist and specialised in helping athletes of all capacities recover from injuries and improve their sporting performance.

He believes strongly that as well as physical treatment, it is important to promote health in all areas including exercise, diet and lifestyle. Encouraging an upwards spiral in health often requires change in multiple areas and Mike is passionate about helping clients achieve that.

Mike enjoys climbing, rugby, water sports and calisthenics training. He has a passion for nature and loves to garden in his spare time.

“Over the months after my graduation I visited many different chiropractic practises, looking for a place with my values and culture. I knew that I wanted to find people that were not only caring, inclusive and passionate about their clients, but also delivered outstanding service to every single person that walked in.

After declining several positions elsewhere I happened upon Back 2 Balance. It was further away than most, but after visiting once, I knew immediately I would not want to be anywhere else.”

Hi my names Hayley.

I’m 23 years old. Originally I’m a Brummie but now I’ve been adopted by Brighton. I’ve had quite an eventful past, full of ups and downs but I don’t let that hold me back. Life is too short to let little things get in the way and I want to live it to the full. I’m always open minded and up for trying new things, I’m always a happy person, keen to make new friends, I enjoy taking on new challenges, expanding my knowledge and pushing myself. I love helping people and getting involved, I always get stuck in at the deep end.

My life motto is ‘ happy mind= happy soul’ you can always make find a positive in a negative situation. I’m a reliable person, very organised and enjoy embarking on new adventures. At the end of each day I relax by reading and catching up on the family’s events.

Hey I’m Faye!

I’m originally from the West Country and relocated to Brighton to study Guitar at Degree level. I took an injury to my shoulder because I played too much guitar! I know its kind of ironic but because of this injury, I began chiropractic treatment and noticed the improvement to my health and posture especially when playing guitar.

I really enjoy informing and helping people so they can get the most out of life and all the spontaneous adventures it throws our way.

I believe you have to make the most of everyday whether it’s reading a book, having the best pancakes in Brighton or playing an awesome gig.

“Hi, I’m Adriana. I am originally from Brazil but have been living in England for 15 years now.

Growing up in Rio with an amazing climate and incredibly fresh food, and a passion for fitness led me to a path of being a professional triathlete. During this time I decided to get my education in nutrition and became a personal trainer.

I live to help people find their best possible health and well-being, whilst enjoying the journey.

Being part of Back2Balance is fulfilling and rewarding, being able to witness the impact our team has on each and every client. I have never worked in such a loving and happy environment.

You can always count on me to greet you with a smile on the reception, which will hopefully make your day brighter!

Richard Renson – Practice Manager

Richard comes to Back2Balance with many years experience in the leisure industry, so he knows how to look after individual needs. Being of service to others, has always been a major part of Richard’s life.  In the mid ’90s, Richard retrained to become a psychotherapist, and worked both in Brighton, and Surrey in various mental health settings.

Taking a break from therapy, Richard read for a degree at the University of Brighton. On graduating he worked for the Disability and Dyslexia Team, in Student Services at the same university.

By way of synchronicity, in 2015 Richard was attracted to the position of Practice Manager at Back2Balance. On meeting Rebecca, he set out on a new path supporting the team, and clients on a chiropractic voyage.

Richard is an avid sailor, being a Senior Dinghy Instructor through the RYA. He lives along the coast in Worthing with his wife, daughter and two cockapoos.

   Camilla Chilvers – Massage Therapist

Photo Shape Editor:

Take a scientific background in anatomy, complement it with rigorous sports massage training and mix it with someone who just loves to connect with people and get them to feeling their best; this is what you should expect from one of Camilla’s sessions!”

Massage was a breath of life for Camilla to ease the impact of long distance running on her body. Initially looking to stretch, relax and recover after hard training sessions, the deeper magic of massage began to reveal and holistic and alternative medicine became a priority in her life. Building from a knowledge base in anatomy, drawn from a degree in Biomedical Science and contextualised the study of movement in her Yoga teacher training in Nepal, Camilla found the elements to promote a healthy lifestyle. The final piece of the puzzle was to train in Sports massage in order to complete this tri-factor of holistic therapy and share a complete form of treatment with the world.

Becky Cunningham – Massage Therapist

Photo Shape Editor:

Hey I am Becky.

I have always loved an active lifestyle. When I was a teenager I played golf for college and occasionally the county. During this I sustained an injury which led to chiropractic care. Since receiving  treatment I came to the conclusion that I wanted to be within an industry that helps people.

I studied sports therapy at Kent university, working with basketball, rugby and football players. Since graduating in 2014,  I have been working with people to try and aid their recovery, deep tissue massage being a big contribution to this. As well as enjoying treating, I love meeting new people and hearing their stories.

Being part of Back 2 Balance is a joy and full of lovely, happy faces!

Our team and Chiropractic Doctors attend various training courses and seminars during the year to ensure the best, most-up-to-date service is available to our patients at all times.
